Administrative Support Coordinator - Public Works & Engineering Department

 
The Village of Arlington Heights is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Administrative Assistant to join the Public Works & Engineering Department. This position plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the department. This is an excellent opportunity for a service-minded administrative professional who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced municipal environment.
 
As an Administrative Assistant, you will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Department, while providing outstanding customer service by phone, e-mail, and in-person. The Administrative Assistant will assist with daily operations in the department, contributing to the efficiency of the team.  Responsibilities will include financial record keeping, collecting payroll information, and processing of requisitions and purchase orders. This position is also responsible for organizing department records and ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and well-maintained.
 
This position is ideal for someone who appreciates variety in their work and enjoys contributing to the community. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, exceptional organizational skills, and have willingness to learn about the department’s operations. Successful candidates will have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as the ability to learn and use a variety of software.
 
The salary range for this position is $69,390-$93,675, with an anticipated hiring range of $69,390-$71,306, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position with a 37.5-hour work week, Monday-Friday, from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The Village offers a diverse and competitive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid vacation, opportunities for professional development, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension plan.
 
The ideal candidate will have one to three years of relevant administrative experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and additional training or coursework in a related field. Experience working in a municipal environment, particularly in Public Works or Engineering, is preferred but not required.
