Learn and grow as an intern at the Village of Arlington Heights! Are you passionate about public health and ready to make a real-world impact? The Village of Arlington Heights is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join the Environmental Health Division of the Health and Human Services Department this summer.

As an Environmental Health Intern, you will have the exciting opportunity to shadow Environmental Health Officers’ daily inspections and learn how to conduct your own inspections at food service facilities, swimming pools, and other local venues.

The Environmental Health Intern will also contribute to sustainability efforts in the Village by evaluating the multi-family recycling program. Additionally, this individual will participate in adjudication hearings and help resolve complaints and respond to inquiries and business license requests from the public.

Qualified candidates will be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Community Health, or another closely related field. A valid Illinois driver’s license is required.

The intern will work in-person at Village Hall for 37.5 hours per week over the course of 12 weeks during the summer months. The hourly rate for this position is $16.00.
