North Castle Hardwoods is a hardwood production & sales business of Traxess USA, which celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2024.
North Castle Hardwoods provides premium grade lumber, thin-stock dimensional lumber, dimensional and edge-glued and face laminated products for crafters and hobbyists, contractors, builders, remodelers, furniture making and the architectural (countertops and stairs) markets. We partner with state-of-the-art sawmills and drying facilities located in some of the best hardwood timber producing regions of North America to log, saw, kiln-dry and machine our proprietary grade and quality hardwoods.
North Castle Hardwoods (NCHW) specializes in Walnut, White Ash, Black Cherry, White Hard Maple, Rift/Quarter sawn White and Red Oak, Plain-sawn Red and White Oak in all thicknesses (4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 8/4, and thicker). We have been exporting these products to the international markets for the past 35 years (particularly to Japan where the lumber quality requirement can be said to be the highest in the world). Our products are used exclusively in the manufacturing of fine-quality furniture and architectural products.
We are now offering the same top quality hardwood products to the domestic U.S. market through eCommerce and direct distribution. We machine large lumber boards into smaller and precision dimensional and thin stock ranging from 1/8” to 5/8” at our shop in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and distribute throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. In addition, we offer other value-added products such as edge-glued or face-laminated boards, tabletops, countertops, bench tops, cutting boards and butcher blocks for the residential and commercial markets as well. We build our business on our more than 35 years of hardwood experience and valuable high-quality hardwood resources.
